Macc live

It has been an amazing month in Macclesfield. Winterfest has showcased performance, poetry, comedy and more and lots and lots of music. Macc has always known for its lively music scene but has truly surpassed itself with touring groups from classical to African drummers and home grown Opera. One of the highlights was the stage in the Marketplace which truly showed what a great al fresco performance space this town centre can be. Not deterred by freezing fingers, ukuleles, Irish music, and brass bands were heard at this months Treacle. Keep it coming we say!

Visitors beware

Christmas is a time for visitors in Macclesfield, many of whom are returning home to their old patch to see friends and family. They are in for a shock if they venture into the new Visitor information Centre next to the Old Town Hall. Formerly a great place to find out about Nordic cruises but lacking much info about Macc itself, it has been transformed! With a swanky refit in Make it Macclesfield colours it is a place that really means business and is serious about the town.
Not just a resource for visitors, head here for event ticket sales, local info, Macc Football and Rugby strips and lots of Macclesfield goods. They’ve even got a Joy Division section!
